The Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA) has today (Tuesday 24th March) published an explanatory note outlining the legislative framework governing wild seaweed harvesting.  The document is intended to provide clarity and guidance to stakeholders, including harvesters, costal communities, industry and the general public.

The explanatory note sets out the key elements of the legislative framework, including the relevant statutory provisions and regulatory measures that apply to wild seaweed harvesting activities. This represents an important step in enhancing understanding of the regulatory environment for wild seaweed harvesting.
