MARA Stakeholder Forum

The Maritime Area Stakeholder Forum aims to facilitate structured and ongoing engagement with key stakeholders involved or affected by regulatory activities in Ireland’s maritime area. The Forum will provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of information to support MARA’s regulatory and strategic functions.

The Forum is intended as a structured platform to:

  • Provide updates on MARA’s role and development
  • Share knowledge on best practices in the maritime regulatory landscape
  • Inform MARA’s application requirements and processes, lessons learned by all
  • Inform stakeholders of legislative or policy updates
  • Inform MARA of developments in the various sectoral areas
  • Any other relevant topic of relevance to MARA’s functions

 

The Stakeholder Forum is chaired by the CEO of MARA and it brings together representatives from across a diverse range of organisations, including:

  • Department of Climate, Energy, and the Environment
  • Marine Ireland Industry Network
  • Marine Renewables Industry Association
  • County & City Management Association
  • Irish Harbourmaster’s Group
  • Uisce Éireann
  • EirGrid
  • Irish Environmental Network
  • European Subsea Cables Association
  • Wind Energy Ireland
  • Irish Fish Producers Organisation
  • Marine Institute
  • Irish Institute of Master Mariners
  • Irish Farmers Association Aquaculture Section
  • ESB
  • Irish South and East Fish Producers Organisation

 

The Forum does not discuss any applications for consents that are under assessment by MARA or any enforcement matter.

The Forum is non-statutory, non-binding and not a decision-making body.

The first meeting of the Stakeholder Consultative Forum took place on Tuesday 13th January 2026, details following that meeting will be posted on this page in due course.
