Who we are

MARA is an independent regulatory authority under the aegis of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment (DCEE) with a critical role in the streamlined system for regulation of the maritime area.

We understand that Ireland’s ambitions for the diverse needs of all users of the maritime space are contingent on delivering a fit for purpose authorisation and regulatory regime.

We are led by our CEO, with oversight by a Governance Board and our structure spans six Directorates.
